Steinbeck (d&d town)

Steinbeck is a small town situated along the river between the canyons of Huon Valley and the dark but majestic Kolima Woods. When business is thriving, the town is considered the best place in Yamikora's Western province for those adventures seeking companion creatures, fabled hand breed and reared mounts, spells for familiars and the local specialty of FabergĂ© eggs of mythical beasts, all of which fetch incredibly high prices.

The downside of being a place surrounded by the homes of many powerful and magical creatures is that they tend to regularly have Dragon problems which has caused most businesses to close and leave town. Those who do remain are hoping some heroes will come to aid their town, and while they initially can't offer much in return to begin with for the service, any adventurer who helps keep them at bay will be rewarded handsomely as businesses return with discounts on creature and mount services, familiars, scrolls, pets and may find additional quests from Fabergé egg sellers for extremely rare and exotic eggs with rewards of them in kind which have incredibly high resale value which is handy if adventures are in need of cash for fancier, more ornate and sturdy weapons, armour or spells.

There is currently only one inn in town named The Bubble Serpent, named after the rarest and lengthiest dragon species that lives in the area. It's eggs are so large and beautiful that they're only ever carved for special occasions (weddings, funeral commiserations of heroic figures, royal functions, birth of an Elven prince or Dwarven Thane - Even Orcs prize them for gifts as drowery for chieftains daughters) and always require armed transport to make sure they arrive at their destination safely. Those who do fend off thieves and bandits are always rewarded.

(Town map design is entirely up to DM's choosing, however players actions in anything set in or around this town affect how it grows and what races choose to live there. Think along the lines of Tarry Town from Breath of the Wild and the more creatures who learn of it's rebuilding from the players, the more the town changes each time they return. This gives players a place where they know NPC's who could be useful on future adventures)
