Snickers - lvl 1 Necromancer


Snickers used to be the familiar of a Druid summoner who was gifted his freedom in turn for his loyalty and aid during the life of his owner Fizbang. Upon his Awakening he chose to leave his master to pursue his true calling in magic though he's still finding his footsteps in what field he wants to pursue. He is hoping his interest in the history of magic in ancient tomes will help guide him towards unlocking his real powers and potential.

Because he felt extremely alive whenever his past familiar state body was used to channel his masters spells he craves that feeling coursing through his veins giving him the invigorating euphoria to be more than just an ordinary dog.

He is still loyal to Fizbang his Druidic Halfling master who's happily retired running a potion and ingredient shop for other spell casters and sometimes sends unique items to him from his travels if he's able to find a use for it via his research.

Snickers is unfortunately short and very low to the ground, being a Dachshund which means he's at a disadvantage against anything that he can't reach and normally veiws the world as if its largely populated by feet. Creatures that don't touch the ground are something he cannot see unless they have a certain smell forcing him to strain hit short neck upwards.

Currently he's in the company of a Cat called Xander who's an Artificer with an interest in Anthropology, both travelling around to see what hidden lore and trinkets the world has hidden away since the Necromancer war.

Abilities & Feats:
Keen senses:dogs get advantages on all perception tests involving hearing and smell. They are at a disadvantage on tests involving colour.

Best Friend: dogs may cast charm person once per long rest. No spell components are required. DC for this is 8 + your charisma modifier.

Slippery: If your attack is a critical hit, you may dodge as a free action after resolving your attack. (small dog perk)


Worse than bark: You have a natural bite attack that counts as both weapon and unarmed attack. It does 1d4 +strength modifier damage. It increases to 1d6 at level 5 and 1d8 at level 10.


Arcane recovery:You have learned to regain some of your magical energy by studying your spellbook. Once per day when you finish a short rest, you can choose expended spell slots to recover. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than half your wizard level (rounded up), and none of the slots can be 6th level or higher.

For example, if you’re a 4th-level wizard, you can recover up to two levels worth of spell slots. You can recover either a 2nd-level spell slot or two 1st-level spell slots.

Feat:
Digger: you have to dig! You have advantage on ability checks for digging and if in combat if you're anywhere you can dig in the ground with your paws you can take an action to go prone and take half cover.
